Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z Launched with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 7,200mAh Battery and 120Hz Display

Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z Officially Announced: Big Battery Meets Budget Performance

Vivo has expanded its G-series smartphone lineup with the launch of the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z in China. Both smartphones target users looking for long battery life, reliable daily performance, and durable build quality without stepping into the premium price segment.

The two devices share nearly identical hardware, offering a modern design, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, a high-refresh-rate display, and a huge 7,200mAh battery that promises extended usage on a single charge.

Display and Performance

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z feature a 6.75-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. Powering both smartphones is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.

The processor is designed for everyday activities such as web browsing, social media, video streaming, and casual gaming while maintaining good power efficiency.

Camera

For photography, both smartphones include a 50MP primary rear camera capable of capturing detailed daylight images. On the front, users get an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and social media photos.

While the camera setup is suitable for regular users, it lacks advanced flagship features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) or ultra-wide photography.

Battery and Charging

One of the biggest highlights is the enormous 7,200mAh battery, which should comfortably last two days for many users. Vivo also includes 44W fast charging, allowing users to recharge faster despite the large battery capacity.

Durability

The Vivo G5i and G5z are built with durability in mind. They carry IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings along with military-grade durability certification, making them more resistant to harsh environments than many phones in the same price range.

  • Efficient Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor
  • Smooth 120Hz refresh rate display
  • 44W fast charging support
  • IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance
  • 50MP main camera

Price and Availability

Vivo has launched both smartphones in China with multiple memory configurations. The base variant starts at CNY 2,199, while the higher-end model is priced at CNY 2,899. Availability in other global markets has not yet been confirmed.

Final Verdict

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z are designed for users who prioritize battery life, durability, and dependable everyday performance. Although they skip premium features like an AMOLED display and advanced camera hardware, their huge battery, smooth 120Hz screen, and rugged construction make them attractive options for budget-conscious buyers seeking long-lasting smartphones.
